Membership Tier Rules

These rules apply to all three membership tiers — Adventurer, Explorer and Traveler — and set out how upgrades, renewals and downgrades are determined.

Anything not covered here follows the announcements published on our official website.

1. Tier Validity

• Adventurer: takes effect once you register and complete your member profile. This tier never expires.
• Explorer and Traveler: each upgrade or renewal grants a 365-day validity period, counted from the date the upgrade or renewal takes effect.

2. Upgrade Requirements

Meet any one of the following during your current tier to be upgraded:

• Upgrade to Explorer: complete a 1-year subscription (1-year pass) on the Mom Dad Story app or website, or spend NT$2,000 on the website within one membership year.
• Upgrade to Traveler: complete a 2-year or longer subscription (2-year pass) on the Mom Dad Story app or website, or spend NT$8,000 on the website within one membership year.

3. When an Upgrade Takes Effect

• Once you complete a subscription or reach the spending threshold, our system verifies your eligibility.
• Upgrades are processed within one to two weeks of meeting the requirement. The 365-day validity period for the new tier starts as soon as the upgrade is complete.

4. Renewal Requirements

Your tier is renewed if you meet the following within your validity period:

• Explorer renewal: spend NT$2,000 on the app or website within the validity period (app purchases count only if they are subscription plans).
• Traveler renewal: spend NT$5,000 on the app or website within the validity period (app purchases count only if they are subscription plans).

Note on app purchases

• Only subscription plans purchased in the app count towards renewal.
• Non-subscription in-app purchases (for example, My List) do not count towards renewal spending.

5. When a Renewal Takes Effect

• Our system verifies eligibility around the time your validity period ends.
• Renewals are processed within one to two weeks of meeting the requirement. The new period runs for 365 days from the day after your previous period ends.

6. Tier Changes and Downgrades

• An Explorer who does not meet the renewal requirement drops to Adventurer once the validity period ends.
• A Traveler who does not meet the renewal requirement drops to Explorer once the validity period ends.
• Whenever your tier changes — upgrade, renewal or downgrade — accumulated spending resets to zero from the effective date.
• Spending accumulated under a previous tier does not carry over to a new tier or to the following year.

7. How Accumulated Spending Is Calculated

• Only orders completed on the Mom Dad Story app or official website are counted.
• Shipping fees, coupon discounts and store-credit discounts are excluded.
• If an order is cancelled, returned or partially refunded, the corresponding amount is deducted from your accumulated spending.
• If a refund brings your total below a threshold, our system re-verifies and adjusts your tier accordingly (approximately two working weeks).

8. Examples

• Example A — Upgrading to Explorer
  A member spends NT$2,000 on the website between January and 3 March 2025. The upgrade is processed within one to two weeks; the 365-day Explorer period starts on the upgrade date and accumulated spending resets to zero from that day.
• Example B — Upgrading to Traveler by subscription
  A member completes a 2-year pass subscription in the app. The upgrade is processed within one to two weeks and takes effect on the upgrade date, with a 365-day validity period and accumulated spending starting from zero.
• Example C — Explorer renews successfully
  An Explorer's period runs to 1 April 2026. The member spends NT$2,000 on the website on 1 March 2026, and the renewal is processed within one to two weeks.
• Example D — Traveler drops a tier
  A Traveler's period runs to 10 May 2026, but the member spends only NT$3,200 during the 365 days (below NT$5,000). Once the period ends, the system finds the renewal requirement unmet and moves the member to Explorer.

Mom Dad Story reserves the right to interpret, adjust and amend these membership tier rules. Anything not covered here follows the announcements published on our official website, without separate notice.
